PayPal announced on Tuesday it will open a new technology development center in Scottsdale, Arizona. PayPal said it plans to hire hundreds of local technical professionals in the coming year and has openings for technical professionals with expertise in product development, operations and infrastructure design, engineering and support (https://www.paypal.com/jobs).
Outgoing president Jeff Jordan said, "We are very excited to expand our presence in Arizona. We are confident that Scottsdale will be a great place to help PayPal grow our business and support our customers around the world."
Meanwhile yesterday, Google announced it would open a sales and operations center for its AdWords ad program in Michigan. Google said it plans to make a significant financial investment to locate a major new corporate presence in the Ann Arbor area that will create 1,000 direct and more than 1,200 spin-off jobs in its first five years. The facility will be a sales and operations center for AdWords.
Google was co-founded in 1998 by Sergey Brin and Larry Page, a graduate of East Lansing High School and the University of Michigan.
