BuySafe announced that the company's founder, Steven Woda, has been appointed to the Commonwealth of Virginia's Joint Commission on Technology & Science (JCOTS) Cybercrimes Advisory Committee. Each year, the Commission, comprised of 12 legislators, identifies key issues of importance to the State and forms advisory committees to study each topic. The committees in turn issue reports and recommendations, including legislative policies.
BuySafe CEO Jeff Grass said, "Since 2000, when he started developing the concept for buySAFE, Steve has acquired extensive knowledge about key issues effecting Internet users, such as phishing, identity theft and online fraud, and he has become a leading evangelist for online shopping safety."
BuySafe offers a bonding service to eBay merchants to provide broad protection for individual buyers from online transaction risks, and last month expanded its service to non-eBay retail sites.
