Mpire Inc., which provides eBay seller tools and an online shopping service, announced that Jon Zimmerman has joined the company as a Corporate Advisor. Zimmerman has helped companies optimize price and revenue for over fourteen years, including T-Mobile USA and Expedia.com. Zimmerman has also served as a senior consultant at Decision Focus Inc. where his work included revenue management and related applications for clients including British Airways, and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. As a result of the work with Hyatt, Jon shares a patent with several DFI colleagues for a method and system that determines optimal prices in revenue management.
"I'm excited to be working with Mpire in helping them leverage data mining and quantitative analysis to empower the online shopper, "said Jon Zimmerman. "My mission in working with them is to help take their analytics to the next level. We'll be using a combination of techniques to find patterns in the variation of prices over time to help consumers get the right price for anything their shopping for."
Zimmerman graduated with a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Stanford University and earned an Masters of Education in systems engineering from the University of Virginia where he received a University Graduate Fellowship. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D in marketing at the University of Washington.
