Amazon Sellers Scrambled over Technical Issues

Third-party sellers on Amazon were scrambling earlier this week to cope with problems that affected the site. Amazon.com announced on its Seller Announcements board that there were issues limiting customer access to Auction and zShops pages and problems with seller access to "Your Seller Account." In addition, it reported that the Sell an Item pipeline was unavailable, the delivery of "Sold - Ship Now" emails was halted, and the ability to retrieve order reports for both Amazon.com and Amazon.ca sellers was unavailable. The problems began on August 29 and were reported resolved on August 30.

Sellers posted dissatisfaction with the timing and accuracy in informing third-party sellers of technical problems (http://www.amazonsellercommunity.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=122193). One seller said he thought it unlikely Amazon that would delete any negative feedback sellers received due to the glitch.

Amazon did not get back to AuctionBytes about the nature of the problem by press time.
