Reading AuctionBytes: eBay Software Firm Timbercreek Goes Out of Business

Customers of Timbercreek Software received an email from the company informing them it would no longer support its eBay software product called "Sold! V." Customers are allowed to continue using the software, but the company will not provide support.

Efforts to contact the owner of the company by email and telephone were unsuccessful. Attempts to purchase the software on the site brought up the message, "Due to technical issues we are not selling any products at this time."

Clicking on help on the website brought up the following message: "Due to a catastrophic hardward failure we are in the process of rebuilding the site and all stores. If you are a store owner we expect to be fully recovered in the next day or so. Note to all users that are hosting their own DNS: you need to change your IP address for your store to 64.34.161.89. This is a temporary server so the IP will change again next week or so. The Paypal IPN downloads are currently not working, this will be addressed but may not be until everything has been moved from the temporary server back to a dedicated server."

One Timbercreek Software customer who wrote to AuctionBytes said of the company, "Lots of people used them to host photos. They were pretty good at one time, but seem to have crashed and burned lately. They also had auction management software which they are no longer supporting."
