PayPal spokesperson Amanda Pires shed some light on a new feature that the online payment service is testing. The TechCrunch blog written by Michael Arrington posted screenshots of a PayPal "Drop Box," and blog readers contributed comments speculating on the new feature.
Pires said, "What was seen today was some testing of some really basic functionality that PayPal is doing. It's functionality that many mainstream payment providers already offer to merchants and we're testing it now. We're really in the early stages. Just to be clear, this is not a digital distribution system or a software delivery system as some of the blogs were suggesting."
