Infopia announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted the company a patent for a core piece of Infopia's technology. Specifically, the new patent protects Infopia's best practices and software solution to identify, utilize and optimize the appropriate online marketplaces given a merchant's specific product and sales success, thereby increasing the merchant's exposure to the right customers and driving greater revenue.
Now covered under U.S. Patent No. 7,110,967, Infopia's technology and methodology assist online sellers in the difficult and often time-consuming work of analyzing product sales and researching e-marketplaces to find the best forum for a seller's specific product which could be eBay, Amazon, Overstock.com, uBid.com, Bid4Assets or any combination of these and others.
To help merchants make their online selling decisions, Infopia considers inventory information, product performance, marketplace performance, customer acquisition costs, buyer activity and other information in its best-practice process.
"This patent validates the extraordinary and unduplicated value Infopia delivers to our customers," said Bjorn Espenes, chief executive officer of Infopia. "More and more marketplaces are popping up on the Internet, so just as a brick-and-mortar business needs to do its homework on which stores would be the best match for its products, the same is true for online merchants. Our technology and proprietary process take the guesswork and hassle out of this important strategy decision, enabling merchants to focus on driving their sales."
