eBay launched a new search feature on Tuesday. eBay Deal Finder searches the eBay marketplace and finds items that are within the total price range that shoppers specify, including shipping costs. Listings appearing in search results are those listings that are ending soon - in less than 4 hours; have yet to receive a bid; do not have a Reserve price; and have a flat shipping rate (including free shipping).
eBay Deal Finder presents search results in a new way, including a dynamic countdown clock to let shoppers know how much time is remaining for each item.
The results seem to be a subset of what one would think would show up, and item-specifics (product attribute fields) and shipping appear to be factors. Some on the eBay Stores board believe listings from certain categories are being excluded (http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?threadID=1000384872). eBay did not respond to an inquiry by press time.
