Reading AuctionBytes: zeeDive Creates Auctions-in-Reverse for eBay Store Items

zeeDive.com, a site that attempts to create shopping excitement by listing items with falling prices, announced it is now possible for eBay Store owners to list their inventory on the site. The company said sellers benefit from additional exposure with no cost to list items - zeeDive charges sellers only when an item sells.

Shoppers on the zeeDive.com website find inventory with falling prices. They can choose to buy an item at the current price, or submit a lower price at which they would be willing to purchase the item - if no one else buys it first at a higher price.

Sellers who list items on zeeDive are required to operate an eBay Store. Eric Metens, founder and president of zeeDive Inc, said, "Our unique technology allows us to parse an eBay store and list its content on zeeDive without requiring any work of the seller."

Metens said zeeDive filters and answers most customer inquiries, reducing significantly the load on the seller. zeeDive also handles the payment processing and pays sellers directly.

When asked how zeeDive plans to attract shoppers, Metens said the company will list its inventory on NexTag, Shopping.com and other sites as straight advertisements. The service also has a referral program with a $5 incentive for each referral. He said zeeDive also uses "No Minimum dives" as loss leaders. "These are very addictive," Metens said, "as the price drops until the item sells."
