TIAS Releases Report on Antiques and Collectibles Sales for 2006

TIAS.com, the largest online antique and collectible mall, has released its annual report of the most frequently purchased antiques and collectibles online in 2006. The report contains the top 20 categories of antiques and collectibles purchased online by customers visiting antique and collectible related Web sites that are hosted by TIAS.com Inc.

The following list ranks popular categories based on the volume of items purchased within each category. For example, in 2006, more pieces of collectible jewelry were sold online than collectible glass. Note that the list also compares 2006 rank data to the previous year. 2) China and Dinnerware - Up from #3 in 2005
3) Glass - Down from #2 in 2005
4) Coins and Currency - Not listed last year in 2005

6) Holiday & Seasonal - Up from #13 in 2005
7) Comics - Down from #5 in 2005
8) Paper and Ephemera - Up from #14 in 2005
9) Miscellaneous - Down from #6 in 2005
10) Vintage Sewing - Up from #11 in 2005
11) Kitchen Collectibles - Down from #8 in 2005
12) Porcelain & Pottery - Down from #9 in 2005
13) Vintage Clothing - Down from #12 in 2005

The report also contains the top 20 categories of antiques and collectibles sold online in 2006 based on dollar volume. The following list is based on how much money was spent by customers who bought antiques and collectibles over the past year. For example, in 2006, more money was spent by customers buying collectible comics than jewelry. Note that the list also compares 2006 rank data to the previous year.
