PropertyRoom announced the appointment of Rob Hagen as CEO and PJ Bellomo as COO. The two will lead expansion efforts with high-volume merchants while maintaining the online-auction company's growth rate. Hagen most recently served in an M&A and Corporate Strategy capacity at Digital River, and previously Hagen and Bellomo worked together at Commerce5.
"As a team, Rob and PJ possess a proven track record of driving profitable growth in online commerce and the broader technology sector," said PropertyRoom.com founder and former police detective Tom Lane. "By combining their invaluable, hands-on Internet commerce experience with the depth of law enforcement expertise we already possess among our founders, we now have the management team in place to ensure our successful growth in the future."
Lane, along with retired LA Police Chief Daryl Gates, remains actively involved in the business, developing top-tier law enforcement contracts; Lane will also maintain his role as Chairman of the Board. Former CEO Steve Lupinacci will assume an active role on the Board of Directors.
Hagen said, "Given our indisputable leadership position in the nationwide police business with 850 agencies under contract, we are confident we can grow PropertyRoom.com into a leading online marketplace. As part of our more immediate goals over the first 120 days, I will focus on strengthening and streamlining the operational and financial position of the company, while PJ launches our new Trusted Merchant Program and builds technology integration into a select group of the major auction listing service providers."
In support of company growth plans, Bellomo has also assumed responsibility for a website overhaul project initiated and nearly completed by Lupinacci. The new PropertyRoom.com will reflect an updated design running on a feature-rich proprietary auction platform and is anticipated to debut in the first quarter.
