Auctionpay announced it has processed over $500 million in donations for its nonprofit clients' causes since its founding in 2002. Of this, $212 million was processed in 2006. The company also announced that its customer base has grown to 4,500 nonprofit organizations and schools.
Auctionpay's original product was a solution for processing credit cards at auction events that substantially reduced administrative overhead and improved the experience for donors, guests and staff. The company developed a web-based online registration and donation product in 2003, and in early 2005, extended its product line with event-management software. In 2006, the company launched Auction Booster, offer travel packages for sale at online and live benefit events.
"Nonprofit leaders are feeling increased pressure to achieve greater efficiencies, better performance measures and methods to raise funds in a more sophisticated fashion," said Steve Sterba, Auctionpay CEO and president. "While nonprofits traditionally have lagged behind the commercial sector in technology adoption, there is a growing indication that technology acceptance in nonprofits is at a key inflection point. Auctionpay is leading the way in shifting this trend by providing technology solutions to help them raise more money at their live, in-person auction events, as well as with online fundraising, or ePhilanthropy."
