Reading AuctionBytes: Shipwire Launches Fulfillment Service for Online Sellers

Shipwire.com announced a fulfillment service aimed at small online merchants during the DEMO 07 on Thursday. The Shipwire service allows sellers to outsource the entire process of receiving, warehousing and shipping merchandise.

Plans start at $29.95 a month and has national warehouse network, simple bundled pricing, and an open developer network. More than 30,000 online stores already have Shipwire technology built into their operations.

Chris Shipley, executive producer of the DEMO conferences, said, " Shipwire.com is a business accelerator for thousands of small companies."

Damon Schechter, CEO of Shipwire.com and author of the "Delivering the Goods," said, "Small businesses spend more than $50B a year bringing bulk merchandise into the U.S., managing the inventory, and packing and shipping individual orders. For most of these businesses, shipping is an inefficient and unwanted cost center."
