HammerTap has acquired Auction Trust Network, whose service allows eBay sellers to reconnect with customers when they shop online. HammerTap provides eBay market-data services.
Currently buyers who use Auction Trust Network's Reconnect service can add trusted sellers to their buying networks, and can send their lists to friends and associates (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abu/y206/m10/abu0177/s03). HammerTap plans to add lists composed of BuySafe merchants and others belonging to relevant social networks. In addition, Reconnect will include a customer loyalty program to entice more consumers to return to trusted sellers.
HammerTap spokesperson Jen Cano said, "HammerTap has long provided eBay sellers with the power to make educated selling decisions. With Reconnect we will place the same power into the buyers' hands, while simultaneously helping them reconnected with trusted eBay sellers."
According to the company's press release, HammerTap anticipates requests from other popular marketplaces to provide the same benefits and value for their merchants and buyers.
