eBay said it is making several improvements to its "Combined Shipping Discounts" feature, which allows sellers to offer discounted shipping rates when a buyer purchases multiple items from them.
Extended Merchandising. Buyers looking at items will now see new messaging that encourages them to make multiple purchases from sellers to take advantage of combined shipping discounts.
Different Discounts for Different Items. Sellers will have the flexibility to set different discount shipping rules for different items.
Promotional Shipping. Promotional Shipping allows sellers to set a special shipping rate on items that meet some criteria. For example, sellers could choose to offer "Free Shipping When You Spend $25!" or "Buy 3 items and shipping is only $5!"
The changes will roll out in the next week or so, and eBay is hosting an online workshop on the feature on April 13.
