Google is giving publishers who display their ads through its AdSense program a special bonus for referring visitors to Google Checkout. For every new buyer who completes a purchase of $10 or more before shipping and tax, referring publishers will earn $1.

Checkout referrals are currently only available for U.S. publishers, and Google Checkout is currently only available for buyers with a U.S. credit card. On the Google AdSense blog, the company wrote, "We hope to make both Checkout and Checkout Referrals available in more countries soon."

Google also announced on its Checkout blog the addition of Blue Nile, MTV, and Comedy Central as merchants now accepting Google Checkout.
