Manion's Eliminates Listing Fees on Militaria Auction Site

Manion's International Auction House, an auction house specializing in militaria and collectibles, has removed the basic listing fees from the company's new "List it Yourself" auction service. There is no buyer's premium, and the final sale fee is 5 percent. Sellers may also add three photos to their descriptions for no charge.

Manion's International Auction House CEO Jody Tucker said, "If you want to buy or sell consumer goods, by all means use eBay. But if you're interested in buying or selling militaria, or other collectibles, we urge you to utilize our List it Yourself auction website: our fees are much cheaper and our audience is more focused."

Sellers on Manion's new List it Yourself auction site benefit from an extensive database of customers dedicated to collecting militaria. "Manion's has been brokering the sale of military related items since 1970," said Tucker. "Our website gets thousands of hits each week from around the world, and we're making sure all of our visitors know about the List it Yourself side of our auction services."

Manion's auction traditionally operates on a consignment basis; with sellers sending items and Manion's staff taking photos, writing descriptions, and shipping sold items. With the popularity of the online auction format, many Manion's customers requested the ability to complete these details themselves. The List it Yourself auction was introduced in January of 2007, with the intention of eventually combining the two separate services into one militaria and collectibles auction website.
