eBay Australia will soon launch a new category for sellers to list services for sale. The listings can be in the Classified Ad format, which is available in the U.S. Or, sellers can pay a flat fee of $5 to list a service in an Auction or Buy-It-Now format, with a $5 flat-fee commission if the item sells.
eBay Australia said it would provide an outlet for service providers to develop a more prominent presence on eBay, and would provide buyers with the transaction history of service providers. The new feature will consolidate existing service listings into one major category and associated sub-categories. However, the company declined to reveal the category breakdown. The Services category will launch sometime around mid-April.
