Amazon.com is tracking pre-orders on the latest Harry Potter book and will award the U.S. town with the greatest number a "Harry-est Town" award. Currently, Falls Church, Virginia is the town with the most pre-orders of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" from Amazon.com on a per capita basis.
The winning town will be announced shortly after the deadline of 11:59 p.m. PDT on July 15, 2007. Amazon.com will donate a $5,000 Amazon.com gift certificate to a charitable organization of its choice that serves the winning town.
The top ten "Harry-est Towns" in the US are:
Falls Church, Va.
Fairfax, Va.
Gig Harbor, Wash.
Vienna, Va.
Katy, Texas
Media, Pa.
Issaquah, Wash.
Doylestown, Pa.
Pembroke Pines, Fla.
Snohomish, Wash.
The list of the top 10 "Harry-est Towns" in America will be updated on a weekly basis, allowing fans to track demand for the latest Harry Potter installment on Amazon.com
