LiveDeal, a free online classifieds marketplace, has entered into an agreement with Philadelphia Media Holdings LLC, the owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News and philly.com. Beginning in April 2007, philly.com will offer a new online classifieds marketplace powered by LiveDeal's classifieds advertising platform. The new marketplace will feature pets, furniture, merchandise and services, and will be seamlessly integrated with the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Philadelphia Daily News.
The new marketplace will offer fraud protection, identity protection, ecommerce, listing enhancements, photos, community-building, package pricing, and advanced local search capabilities. Philadelphia Media Holdings also plans to use LiveDeal's classified ad placement and ad enhancing functionality to support its autos, real estate and jobs classified marketplaces. LiveDeal was founded in 2003 by Rajesh Navar, an early eBay engineer.
