MyThings, introduced in the UK last year, has launched its online registry of belongings in the United States. The company calls MyThings a web service that provides a one-stop shop for managing and protecting valuable belongings.

By creating a MyThings Portfolio on MyThings.com, consumers can track the vital statistics of their belongings. MyThings Valuation is an appraisal service where members can submit their fine arts, antiques, and collectibles to designated specialists for free appraisal online. Users can exchange information about their things through comments, messaging, forums, and stories.

MyThings has partnered with companies such as Terapeak, which provides the price of all items sold on eBay for the past 30 days; CNET Channel, which provides product descriptions and images for consumer electronics; and Become.com, which lists compatible accessories with online shopping and pricing information. Other partners include eBay's Shopping.com and GoAntiques.

MyThings Inc. also provides a service called Trace at Trace.com, an online database of lost and stolen valuables. Trace integrates information from over 50 sources, including local, national, and international law enforcement, plus members of MyThings.
