eBay is holding a 20-cent listing day promotion on April 24, 2007. Insertion fees for Auction-style listings on www.ebay.com will be 20 cents.
Sellers expressed surprise that eBay gave advance notice of the promotion. In the past, eBay has given sellers only a few hours notice of listing-day sales. The advance notice may be credited to eBay PowerSeller Andrew Green (taximarket), who raised the issue with President of eBay North America Bill Cobb during the recent ChannelAdvisor Catalyst conference. Cobb was taking questions from the audience after moderating a panel of eBay sellers.
Green had asked Cobb why sellers were given such short notice of the sales, explaining how it impacted his business. "It doesn't feel customer friendly," he said. Cobb acknowledged that the eBay UK site gave sellers more notice, and told the audience he would consider Green's suggestion.
With listing fees normally ranging from 20 cents all the way up to $4.80, the promotional sales are popular with eBay sellers.
eBay's 20-cent listing promotion runs one day only, April 24. All other fees apply, see website for details and restrictions.
