Reuters reports that former eBay executive Jeff Jordan will head to OpenTable Inc. as its chief executive. Jordan stepped down as President of PayPal last July in a major management shakeup at eBay.
Jordan joined eBay in 1999, and many considered him a possible successor to eBay President and CEO Meg Whitman. Jordan led eBay North America from 2000 through 2004 and was named President of PayPal in December 2004.
Jordan's official reason for leaving PayPal had been to spend more time with his family and was called a planned departure (http://investor.ebay.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=202969).
OpenTable Inc. is a supplier of reservation, table management and guest management software for restaurants. In addition, the company operates www.opentable.com, a website for making restaurant reservations online (http://www.opentable.com).
