Mountain View, Calif. – June 12, 2007 – TheFind, Inc. (www.thefind.com) today announced the launch of paypal.thefind.com, a new shopping search engine built specifically to enable consumers to browse products exclusively from merchants who accept PayPal payments.
Just like results on TheFind.com, products will be shown to PayPal customers as visually compelling catalog-like images, not simply text links or thumbnail images. Unlike traditional comparison shopping sites, merchants will not have to pay for their products to appear in search results on paypal.thefind.com; instead, products from PayPal merchants will be indexed and become part of the natural search results.
“Since TheFind.com launched in October, our mission has been to deliver the best discovery shopping experience online that addresses real consumer needs,” said Siva Kumar, CEO and co-founder of TheFind.com. “We are pleased to bring our service to PayPal customers. We look forward to providing an outstanding shopping experience that connects them to the products they want from merchants who accept PayPal.”
Additional advertising opportunities outside of the algorithmically ranked results will be available to merchants. These identified “sponsored” areas will provide merchants the ability to showcase additional promotional or branding messages to PayPal customers, while making it clear that those results are paid placements.
"By working with TheFind.com, our customers have access to a unique online shopping experience. We are committed to providing our customers with safe, simple and secure ways to shop online,” said Gene Alston, business development director at PayPal. “Today’s announcement gives merchants a new way to reach these customers and do more business with them."
