iMoondo launched a free video classifieds service in Boston in May, and is expanding to other cities. A demonstration video on the home page shows how a lonely dog named Sonny looking for love is disappointed with the results of a traditional classified site (after Sonny rejects her, his date says, "Darn, I shouldn't have photoshoped my picture."). But Sonny turns to iMoondo's video classifieds, and of his second date says, "Wow! You're just like your video."
iMoondo aims to provide users such as employers, car buyers and those looking for dates with an "added dimension to make more informed decisions."
"The acceptance of our business model by the community is astounding," said John Florez, iMoondo founder and an entrepreneur who is also president of a successful nationwide technology staffing firm based out of Newport, Rhode Island. According to the site's press release, iMoondo was founded in October of 2006.
