DataUnison has launched a customizable market-analysis tool that pulls data from the eBay marketplace. The DataUnison Financial Analyst Dashboard gives investment analysts access to 2 years of historical data on consumer spending on eBay, representing $52.4 billion worth of ecommerce activity in 2006. Daily updated data is pulled from six eBay sites - the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Australia, Germany and France - and allows analysts to create customized reports tracking spending on certain items, brands and categories on eBay.
The new service includes specifics on total sales, total number of listings, total successful listings, total number of bids, sell-through rates and many other metrics that indicate how a brand, item or category is faring on eBay. Using this information, DataUnison said investment analysts can predict trends in online and offline sales and make intelligent recommendations on investment opportunities to customers. The announcement included a disclaimer that "data presented in the DataUnison Financial Analyst Dashboard is specific to terms and filters employed by the user and may vary from eBay's official quarterly results."
DataUnison is a member of the eBay Developers Program, an eBay Certified Solution Provider, and an approved eBay Market Data Reseller.
