PayPal has launched a back-to-school shopping site that uses TheFind.com to display products from merchants that accept PayPal. eBay's online-payment service subsidiary said it came up with a list of popular back-to-school items by talking to children, who are featured in videos on the site. The Back-to-School site also has an instant-win game with a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize.
The premise of the site is outlined in an announcement on the PayPal blog: "Hear what the kids have to say in their own voice, and then peruse our shopping lists to find what you need. We’ve also included a product search to help you find everything. It features all the latest from thousands of merchants that offer your favorite way to pay."
The shopping search engine TheFind.com powers the product search engine on the site. TheFind.com launched paypal.thefind.com in June as a "shopping search engine built specifically to enable consumers to browse products exclusively from merchants who accept PayPal payments" (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y07/m06/i14/s05).
