eBay said Version 0.6 of its "San Dimas" desktop application is now available. The program, which allows users to access eBay, does not operate in a web browser. Instead, it is built on Adobe's AIR platform and uses eBay Web Services to communicate with eBay.
The company said the new version has improved speed and system resource usage. It revamped the My eBay information based on user feedback and improved the search user interface to make it simpler. Calculated shipping is now available, and item specifics as well as seller information are shown.
Users who are not in the beta program maysign up at http://www.projectsandimas.com.
eBay said it has plans for future versions but is working to get the public beta version out as soon as it is ready for a wider audience.
