In its August newsletter, Alibris told merchants it had entered into a partnership with eBay's Half.com. The site, which aggregates listings from booksellers, is testing a pilot program that displays its booksellers' inventory on Half.com
"During the pilot phase of this new partnership, one of your books may be ordered through Half.com. These orders should be processed normally, with no special action needed. As with our other partner programs, you'll recognize Half.com by the packing slip and your payment history."
Upon reading about the program, one bookseller expressed concern, since Half.com listings also appear on eBay Express: "This could be an issue for quite a few sellers as it would mean duplicate listings since lots of bookies list the same book on several sites."
The same commission rates and shipping credits apply to orders processed through the pilot program, and the company told booksellers it expects the pilot phase of the program to end in October. Sellers with questions can contact Alibris at sellers@alibris.com.
