PayPal Auctions off Old Logo

Not surprisingly, PayPal chose to use its parent eBay to auction the logo (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200147174686 ). The bidding starts at $100 and the auction ends September 15th. Bidders should be aware that they must pick up the 500-pound, nearly 15 feet wide sign, if they place the winning bid.

PayPal has redesigned its logo and is auctioning off its old logo for charity. The auction is actually for the large sign that had hung in the lobby of the PayPal offices in San Jose. One-hundred percent of the final sale price will support Natural Resources Defense Council, as the president of PayPal Rajiv Dutta explains in a YouTube video embedded in the auction description.
