Amazon.com said it would begin testing a new page for leaving seller feedback beginning September 13, 2007. Half of Amazon.com buyers will see the new page during the testing period. The company said it is making changes "because the existing page will not meet our business needs as we add new features. We are also making improvements based on the many comments we have received from merchants. Finally, we feel that the new page offers a greatly improved buyer experience."
Amazon told sellers that changes to the page include 1-click access to the feedback page after logging in; display of all feedback-eligible orders on one page; and a more prominent display of the message, "If your order hasn't arrived yet, please note that it's still before the delivery estimate."
Amazon said comments on the new page are automatically filled in based on the rating the buyer clicks. "The buyer can then edit the comment before submitting the feedback. This helps ensure that your good service is reflected in the comments that other buyers will see." In addition, the comments box is below the optional questions, "so buyers will be more likely to notice the questions before they leave a comment."
