eBay posted an announcement to sellers stating that, with all the work being done to make eBay a better place for buyers, there is a lot of "great new stuff" for sellers as well. One new feature is a slimmed-down, 1-page listing form that eBay has already rolled out on some international sites. eBay pre-fills many of the fields, such as setting the auction starting price at 99 cents, which the seller can change. The 1-page listing form ("List With Popular Options") is completely optional for sellers, as eBay is keeping its standard SYI (Sell Your Item) form. However, eBay will modify the SYI form - and the Sell hub - to give them a "makeover" with new colors and text.
eBay will also make changes to make it easier to add pictures to listings and select an appropriate shipping service. The eBay selling team is holding an online workshop on September 25th at 3:00 p.m. Pacific time on the topic of the new simplified listing process.
