eBay will roll out changes to its Sell Your Item (SYI) form for sellers in the next few weeks. New features include easier customization options, a new uploader for pictures, and improvements to the shipping section.
Sellers can customize the SYI form to save time when listing items, and eBay said changes will make the customization feature easier to find and use. Particularly noteworthy is the ability for sellers to customize the shipping section, according to the announcement.
USPS Flat Rate boxes and envelopes, for both Priority and Express mail, are being added as Shipping Services. These will be available for both domestic and international shipments when sellers use the Shipping Calculator or specify their own shipping costs.
eBay is also introducing a Flash-based uploading tool with a slick user interface, a real-time progress meter to monitor uploads, and "advanced technology that makes it extremely reliable across a variety of computer platforms."
eBay also announced recently a simpler listing option geared to consumer sellers called Listing with Popular Options (http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200709131622442.html). eBay has been rolling out many changes in 2007 with a focus on improving the buyer experience, and these changes are focused on improving the seller experience.
