eBay Gives Some Help to Stores for the Holidays

eBay is increasing the number of Store Inventory listings that display in the Store Inventory Expansion area in core search results, though it is not changing the criteria for when that area is displayed. Now, when a buyer's keyword-search returns fewer than 30 auction-style or fixed price listings, eBay will display up to 50 Store Inventory items - an increase from the current maximum of 30 listings.

eBay said it would also display Gallery images next to Store listings in the Store Inventory Expansion area. The Gallery feature for Store Inventory costs 1 cent, and normally does not display in the Store Inventory Expansion area. In a related announcement, eBay is making the Gallery feature for core listings free through December 12. (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y07/m11/i05/s01) Gallery adds a thumbnail photo next to listings in the search results pages and normally costs 35 cents for core listings.
