A suspicious package in the mail room of eBay's San Jose headquarters was deemed harmless on Wednesday. eBay spokesperson Hani Durzy said, "We did have a suspicious package in the mail room this morning, called the authorities, and evacuated that building. However, all is well." The company later issued a statement to report that eBay, PayPal and Skype services remain unaffected by the incident.

The scare began at 8:55 am, and more than 200 employees were evacuated from their building. At approximately 12:30 pm, local law enforcement authorities determined that the suspicious package delivered to eBay's mailroom on the Hamilton Avenue campus was harmless. The affected areas of campus were reopened.

It was just over a year ago that a "non-accidental" explosion occurred on the PayPal campus in San Jose. A device blew out a window, but there were no injuries, and all 45 employees were safely evacuated from the building (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y06/m11/i02/s02).
