InkFrog acquired the online store builder service BuyItSellIt.com in September and officially opened it in beta test mode this month. InkFrog CEO Tomas Salas said he has reused certain technologies of the previous site, but has reworked most of it to accommodate additional features.
InkFrog offers tools to allow sellers to list and manage auctions on eBay and acquired competitor SpareDollar last year.
Salas said key features on BuyItSellIt.com include multiple product images; multiple payment support (Google Checkout, Paypal); Google Base product feeds with attribute support; real-time shipping quotes via USPS; unlimited products and categories; unlimited product variations;, HTML product and page customization; reliable and secure product image hosting via Amazon S3; and professional templates.
"We have many features currently in the works that include additional payment support from various merchant providers, full CSS customization of store fronts, daily feeds to Live Product Search Beta and additional shipping quotes via Fed-Ex and Canada Post."
BuyItSellIt.com will remain a free service and, and the company will provide optional paid upgrades such as domain hosting and digital file delivery services. Salas said over 500 storefronts opened in the first week.
