Reading AuctionBytes: Buyer of QXL Auction Site May Be South Africa's Naspers

Newspapers in the UK are reporting that Naspers may be in talks to acquire online auction site QXL Ricardo. Naspers is a media group based in South Africa.

The Financial Times reported today that an agreement between QXL's owner Tradus and Naspers could be reached before Christmas (http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/68866a44-ac41-11dc-82f0-0000779fd2ac.html).

It had been reported earlier that QXL, which has a big presence in Poland and some other Eastern European countries, was in talks with rivals eBay or Alibaba.
