Each year, Amazon.com restricts third-party sales in the Toys and Games category to pre-approved sellers during the holiday shopping season. The company announced Monday it has lifted restrictions put in place last September.
CEO Jeff Bezos had singled out toys as an important holiday sales category in an analyst briefing in October (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y07/m10/i25/s02). Amazon.com had launched its own Toy store in July 2006 after Toys"R"Us exited the platform. Bezos said in October he expected the 2007 holiday season to be its best customer experience in the toy category in the company's history and made reference to a "very strong network of third party toy sellers" in the category.
Amazon.com reminded sellers on Monday that if their listings had been removed due to the policy, to adjust the price and quantity of items before relisting them.
