ChannelAdvisor has re-branded two of its product offerings after having acquired competitor Marketworks last year. MarketplaceAdvisor replaces Marketworks' primary solution and is designed for online sellers focused solely on eBay. MarketplaceAdvisor Premium replaces ChannelAdvisor's Merchant solution and is designed for multi-channel sellers.
MarketplaceAdvisor Premium offers the same eBay features as MarketplaceAdvisor but also integrates with Amazon and Overstock Shopping. Premium also offers enhanced functionality that improves the quality of product feeds sent to comparison shopping engines including Shopzilla, Shopping.com, and Google Product Search.
ChannelAdvisor CEO Scot Wingo said the limited multi-channel functionality that existed in the Marketworks solution (now called MarketplaceAdvisor) will remain, but going forward, the company will support only eBay functionality. He said ChannelAdvisor has in effect built a bridge for sellers who want true multi-channel functionality, which they can get through the Premium product.
The announcement reflects a branding change, and prices will remain the same, according to Wingo.
