By Ina Steiner

eBay has released eBay Desktop 1.0, which had been known as Project San Dimas when it was introduced in beta last June. Users may download the application to their desktop and use it to search, browse, bid, keep track of auctions on eBay. AuctionBytes interviewed co-creator Alan Lewis, Product Manager of eBay Desktop, in a podcast published on Thursday. Lewis discussed the features unique to Desktop, such as feeds and alerts, and the benefits to users. The 1.0 release contains bug fixes and performance enhancements and should make use of eBay Desktop from international eBay locations better.
