eBay Sellers Try out New 'Talk Market' Video Marketplace

The Talk Market is a new online marketplace that lets online sellers post videos pitching their wares in a TV-shopping style format. It is free for sellers to upload product videos, and The Talk Market charges a 5% commission plus a payments-processing charge. Currently it uses Amazon Payments to process payments (fees are found on the Terms of Use page).

The company had a video production crew at this week's Internet Merchants Association conference of multi-channel eBay sellers held in conjunction with the ASD/AMD product-sourcing tradeshow. The Talk Market staff assisted IMA conference attendees in creating videos that demonstrated their products.

AuctionBytes spoke to Cynthia Lizana of Texcyngoods (http://www.texcyngoods.com) as she rehearsed her demo of the magic wallet product she sells on eBay, Amazon and on her own website. The finished video is now a listing on TalkMarket.com and can be seen here (https://www.talkmarket.com/video/product/449).

The Talk Market calls itself a "television shopping channel hosted by you" and is currently in beta. The production crew was busy videotaping, editing and launching listings during the 2 days AuctionBytes was at the IMA event. Talk Market co-founder Matt Singer, who previously represented EMI Music to QVC and QVC.com, said TV shopping networks must turn people and products away but said anyone can post their video listings to TalkMarket.com. The company has already signed an agreement with a hotel chain to showcase the website on its television network for guests.
