Reading AuctionBytes: Seller Circle Launches Social Networking Site for eBay Sellers

Seller Circle has launched a business and social network built specifically for eBay sellers. In addition to providing a social community where sellers can join groups of shared interests, Seller Circle provides free merchandising tools, including a Flash-based Gallery feature.

Social networking features include profile pages for each eBay seller featuring the seller's eBay listings, a list of their friends and groups, and repeat-sales tools for their buyers. The site also makes it easy for sellers to create and join groups of shared interest.

Christian Williams co-founded the site and said, "eBay sellers have always been a tight community. Now sellers have a place where they can more easily communicate, share ideas and show off their merchandise."

Seller Circle also provides an engaging free cross-promotion tool called the Floating Gallery which is automatically inserted into each member's eBay listings and displays the other items being offered by the seller. Instead of appearing at the bottom of the listing, it docks to the bottom of the web browser window, floating above the listing.

An example of the Floating Gallery can be viewed at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140216199308

Seller Circle is a free service, requiring a seller's eBay ID and email address in order to register. The company has plans to add features to the groups section of the site and create additional promotional tools in the coming months.
