In another move to encourage sellers to offer free shipping, eBay has added functionality to its automated Shipping Calculator so that sellers can offer "Free Shipping." Previously, free shipping could only be offered with flat rate shipping.
Listings with Free Shipping feature an icon that appears on the view item page. Sellers may still use calculated shipping for up to two other shipping services. eBay will begin requiring sellers to specify domestic shipping services and costs beginning in July.
eBay also introduced the ability for sellers to specify shipping with freight, even if they're not using the Freight Calculator. "Specifying that you're using Freight will help set proper expectations for your buyers and lead to higher buyer satisfaction," eBay wrote in the feature announcement.
eBay also announced it would soon allow sellers to edit shipping for live multi-quantity items, see announcement for details.
