Newegg, a computer and consumer-electronics retail site, officially launched NeweggMall.com. As reported in AuctionBytes last month, NeweggMall.com expands into additional categories and allows third-party merchants to sell on the new site.
Newegg said it has over 15,000 unique products available on NeweggMall.com in such categories as Auto Parts and Hardware, Apparel and Accessories, Jewelry, Beauty, Travel and Home and Garden.
NeweggMall.com General Manager Judy Woo said, "Online shoppers are more sophisticated, than ever before. They better understand the value of shopping online - time savings, cost savings and simplicity. NeweggMall.com is a perfect complement to our business, offering our customers the products they demand, when they need them."
Sellers must meet certain criteria, such as having a physical location, and must apply for acceptance into the program. There are no listing fees on NeweggMall.com. Woo said the company does not release its commission rates to the public. Reports from sellers indicate commissions vary by category, ranging from 6.5 - 15 percent (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y08/m04/i08/s01).
Newegg.com has over 8.7 million registered users. Founded in 2001, Newegg Inc. attained $1.9 billion in revenue in 2007.
