UK firm SonicZero launched a new eBay alerting service in beta called Stuff Alert. The web-based application is designed to help eBay users easily locate items that are hard to find or not yet listed, as they become available.
To use Stuff Alert, users simply create keyword searches for as many items as they like. Stuff Alert continuously searches the specified eBay markets. As soon as the item is found Stuff Alert sends a free email alert containing an image of the item found together with key information to let users decide whether to click on the link that takes them direct to eBay and the item. Users will never be asked for their eBay username or password. If matching items are found when the initial search is set up users have the option of viewing those items and refining their search.
SonicZero Director Simon Harris the company earns revenue through eBay's Affiliate program and will eventually add advertising and text message services (for now this is free). He said a premium version is planned with extra features.
Stuff Alert is available worldwide in English at www.stuffalert.com. In the UK, users can also sign up for the Stuff Alert SMS text subscription service that delivers instant alerts of items found, direct to their mobile phone - in addition to the free email alerts. Stuff Alert gives users complete control over the number of SMS alerts they receive per alert. The service is also free for a limited trial period.
