UPS posted a notice on its website that flooding in the midwestern United States has affected service. "Pickup, Delivery and On-Call Pickup services may be delayed in areas of Illinois, Iowa and Missouri" and warned that the UPS package guarantee does not apply when transportation networks are disrupted (http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/about/news/service_updates/flood_midwest.html).

eBay PowerSeller and newsletter publisher Skip McGrath, whose business is based in Washington state, said his shipments had been affected. In a recent article, he wrote, "My Shipping Time DSRs took a hit over the past week," and said FedEx, UPS and USPS were experiencing delays of 2-3 days (http://blog.skipmcgrath.com/public/item/207469).
