After putting its auction platform on automatic pilot, Overstock.com has once again turned its attention to the auction site. The company hired Doug Minnick as Director of Auctions over the summer, revamped the Overstock Auctions home page, and cleaned the slate with a new auction community forum. Today the site is rolling out its first major feature in what seems like (and might well be) years.
The new Bid Cancellation feature allows sellers to cancel fraudulent bids of buyers to help them avoid non-paying bidders. Overstock has promised auction sellers more features in time for the holiday shopping season, including increased fraud protection, checkout process improvements and more third-party integrated payment option.
