Dawdle.com officially launched its online marketplace for gamers this week for buying and selling video games, systems, and accessories online. Launched in beta in November 2007, Dawdle.com provides unique tools to buyers and sellers using a proprietary database of games and gear. Dawdle.com also announced partnerships with Extreme Point of Sale, Wolftrack Software, FillZ.com and BRE Software.
Dawdle has no listing fees and processes all payments on the seller's behalf. When items sell, Dawdle uses direct deposit to place the seller's proceeds directly in his or her checking account, eliminating the need to use PayPal or other payment methods. Dawdle charges a commission of 11.99%, which includes payment processing fees.
Dawdle allows buyers to place Standing Offers for the items they want. For example, if a buyer is interested in purchasing a Nintendo Wii for no more than $300, he or she can enter a Standing Offer into the Dawdle system, which will automatically purchase a Wii when one is listed for sale at or below the specified $300 maximum offer price.
As part of its commitment to the independent retailer, Dawdle.com also announced unique partnerships with ExtremePOS and Wolf Track Software, leading providers of point-of-sale software to independent gaming retail stores. With one click, retailers can list all of their in-store inventory on Dawdle with no listing fees and no risk. ExtremePOS will be fully integrated with Dawdle by the end of the calendar year and Wolf Track Software already is integrated with Dawdle and has a number of live beta sites.
Dawdle.com will also offer sellers access to its marketplace through FillZ's multi-channel inventory management solution by the end of the year, and BRE Software will provide price guidance to Dawdle.com sellers.
Brad Roltgen, President of BRE Software, said, "Providing price guidance on the Dawdle platform will allow consumers to have confidence that they will get a full and fair price for their items."
