eBay said it would begin a test phase of Project Echo with pilot applications starting next month. eBay had announced Project Echo in June, describing it as a program that would allow developers to integrate their applications in eBay's selling tools. eBay said it would complete the code for the Project Echo framework and initial Selling Manager integration by the end of this month.
eBay will take what it learns from the Beta phase, ending January 2009, and will fold improvements and bug fixes into the Beta release in the second quarter of 2009.
eBay will host a demo of the Project Echo framework and discuss Selling Manager "product gaps" - defined as opportunities for developers - on October 29, 2008, from 2 - 3:30pm (PT). Developers must send an email to Tina Mazzei at tmazzei@ebay.com for details.
