Trade Show Week named the Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition the fastest-growing conference in the United States and Canada. Trade Show Week based its recognition on growth of exhibition space from 2005 to 2007.
Internet Retailer held its first conference in 2005 with 1,144 total attendees and 45 exhibitors occupying 4,500 rentable square feet in a 10,000-square-foot exhibit hall. The 2007 show, in the San Jose Convention Center, hosted 4,001 attendees and featured 245 exhibitors in 345 10-by-10-foot equivalent booths occupying 35,700 rentable square feet in a 93,000-square-foot exhibit hall. The 2008 Internet Retailer Conference at Chicago's McCormick Place, which will be part of next year's judging, attracted 5,066 attendees, and 328 exhibitors in 457 10-by-10-foot equivalent booths in a 130,000-square-foot hall.
"This recognition is really a reflection of how vibrant the e-commerce market is compared to other industries. When you consider that there are more than 13,000 trade shows in the U.S. each year, it's an absolutely stunning achievement for IRCE to be named the country's fastest growing conference and exhibition," said Jack Love, publisher of Internet Retailer, which operates the Internet Retailer Conference.
The 2009 Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition will be held June 15-18, 2009, in Boston.
